CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS
Humanities Unit Response
Spring Semester 2013
During this unit, we’ve explored a number of possible human rights violations connected to the corporate world:
1. Do you believe that the industry you have chosen is responsible for human rights violations? Explain and support your point of view with evidence.
2. If you believe that human rights are being violated by the industry you’ve chosen, who is primarily responsible for addressing the situation – the industry itself, the government, or the consumer?
If you do not believe that the industry you’ve chosen is responsible for a human rights violation, identify an industry that is and describe the human rights violation involved.
In your essay, you must take a clear stand on the issue and support your position with accurate, credible, and relevant evidence. To receive a passing grade, your essay must include evidence of credible, independent research (beyond the information presented in class), cited in MLA format.
Essays must be typed in 12-point font.
This response is due at the start of class on Thursday, May 9.
